Humans like using names that mean something to them, an they can remember easily or which looks like it might have something to do with the language they speak. So when the people in the IETF who designed the addressing system were planning the way people would interact with each other,
used a system using what look like words. These words roughly map to a parallel system of addressed called Internet Protocol (IP) Addresses, which we describe below. Every computer on the Internet name, the computers translate that name to the corresponding IP address.

The name of the domains describe organizational or geographic realities. They indicate what country the network connection is in, what kind of organization owns it, and in some cases, the names are defined in even more detail.

. net for network organizations, such as boundlesstech.net, itf16.net etc

. gov for parts of governments within the United States, such as pakistan.gov, oklahoma.gov

. edu for organizations of higher education, such as sjsu.edu, ucsc.edu, mit.edu etc

. org for organizations that do not otherwise fit the commercial or educational designations,
such as eff.org, farnet.org etc

.pk for Pakistan Web Site, such as cyber.net.pk, zab.net.pk
