DV or Domain Validated SSL Certificates
Domain Validated SSL certificates are probably the cheapest forms of certificates and usually validates if a domain is registered on WHOIS or not. Since it offers no significant site security options, it is ideal for either businesses who do not work in ecommerce space or businesses that may collect crucial personal information or the target audience is negligibly small. If you have a highly targeted and limited business, then this option may be the best for you.
The certification cannot validate whether the business is legal or not since, it does not collect and provide any company related information, which can be a warning sign for may visitors and businesses that desire to work with you. Companies offering this type of certificates add their logo, or an identification badge, to let the visitors know about with whom the company is certified. However, this information is not enough to recognize and label a business to be secure and hence, it is not enough for the careful visitors to trust you.
